Biography
Matt Smith aka Jeremiah is a Dj/Producer from Kildare in Ireland. After many successes as a DJ he started producing electronic music a few years ago and has worked with some very talented people who have helped him become an experienced producer with a wide skill set in the studio. It all kicked off in Jan 2008 winning the iDJ Magazine Raw Talent competition with a stunning mix that blew the judges away and then shortly after the release of Jeremiah’s "Surface of the Moon" on Ambig Records which is the digital label set up by Matt to release his own productions as well as some up and coming talent The track “Surface of the Moon” was remixed by Slovenian techno giant Umek and German new comer Alex Conners. The release exceeded all expectations such as radio play from Carl Cox and was a staple in many Dj boxes like Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo.
It opened up many doors for Matt such as his project with Mathias Bradler of Mashtronic who needs no introduction with releases on every major from Bedrock to Global Underground. The project is called Bradler & Jeremiah and Bradler & Smith and has seen tracks signed to Baroque “Turmoil”Aug 2008, Flow Vinyl “After the Storm Comes the Calm” supported by John Digweed on his Transitions radio show and due out this summer, Epsilon Trax “Darknes Before Light” TBC 2009 and Mathias’ own Mashtronic label “No Way Back” March 2009 with more releases to come this partnership has proved very su
ccessful for both artists.
Jeremiah also had a track featured on Pete Tong's Fastrax called "Raw Groove" which was signed to the Bedroom Bedlam label and is currently still in charts across the download websites.
The next release on Ambig Records was Jeremiah’s "Treeman" with remixes from Brian Sanhaji and Reaky. It was a huge success for Matt seeing his profile increased further with the track being supported by DJ’s right across the House, Techno and Trance spectrum. The Reaky remix reached the NO.1 spot on the Trackitdown Techno charts.
Matt also joined the Progressivehouse.com promo pool and regularly hosts their exclusive Progcast. Also his mixes have been regularly featured on top Irish radio station Spin FM.
Matt has been doing a lot of work in studio this past year and has been signed exclusively to Baroque label group with his debut EP “Latino Funk” already released this month and being supported by DJ’s such as Armin Van Burren and was the essential track on radio show Shake hosted by Mental X on Swiss radio giant Virus radio.
Next on the calendar for Jeremiah is a remix of track “Selection” from new artist Thomas Create which Matt signed to his Label Ambig and also the release of EP “No Way Back” on Mashtronic records. Later in the year will see the release of more EP’s on the Baroque label group which will cement Jeremiah’s place as one to watch in 2009.
